On Sunday July 17th Nic Scholey, “Queen of Hearts” and female singer with Manchester chart band LZ7 came to Beverley to talk to us about body image and media pressure in conforming to a certain “now” look over a lunchtime chat and fresh coffee evening. Nic is passionate about the whole area of image and the immense pressures that media advertising and celebrity culture place on youth today – both female and male. Through her latest project – “Queen of Hearts” – Nic is aiming to turn these pressures on their heads, getting under the surface of skin-deep outward appearance, and helping people to understand how to feel really good about themselves on the inside – and confidently allow the real person God created to shine out…”inside out”!
